Tippu Express

The Tippu Express is a superfast train running between Bangalore and Mysore in India. It covers a distance of 139 km in 2.5 hours with just a stop at Mandya. It is said that Tippu Express is the first Superfast train to start service in between Capital city of Karnataka, Bangalore to city of palaces, Mysore.

Recently, In the month of April, South western railway launched information and entertainment system " Infotainment on Wheels" on Tippu express. The new infotainment system allows commuters on Tippu to get real time information on arrival and departure of trains, daily news, weather bulletin and entertainment programmes to passengers.

Relevance

This train is named after "The Warrior" Tippu Sultan who ruled Mysore and ended his life fighting against the Britishers at Srirangapatna.

Rake sharing

It shares its rake with the Bangalore City - Dharwad Siddhaganga Express & the Bangalore City - Shimoga Town Intercity Express.

Timings

This train leaves Mysore at 11:00 hrs & reaches Bangalore at 13:30 hrs; leaves Bangalore City at 15:00 hrs & reaches Mysore at 17:30 hrs.
